2007 Mock Draft Pick
2007 NFL Mock Draft - Picks 1 - 10

Discuss the 2007 Draft Picks in the Redzone Action Forum

1. Oakland Raiders - * Calvin Johnson, WR Georgia Tech
Johnson has the type of freakish physical ability that Al Davis loves. This 6'-4" 239 lb pick will instantly be any teams number one, especially after he ran a 4.35 at the combine.
Other possible picks: - JaMarcus Russell, QB LSU - Possesses big league arms & they need a quarterback to start the rebuilding process. Wisconsin’s Joe Thomas can protect - you can build an entire line and offense around Thomas.

2. Detroit Lions - * JaMarcus Russell, QB LSU
At 6-6 and 260 lbs Russell has an amazing arm - an incredibly amazing strong arm . With second pick, Detroit should not even think about passing on either Russell or Calvin Johnson.
Other possible picks: - Calvin Johnson WR Georgia Tech he's fast and very physical.

3. Cleveland Browns - * Adrian Peterson, RB Oklahoma
Although the Browns officials may be tempted to take Johnson or QB Brady Quinn, my opinion is they should go with Peterson. He has all the signs of a franchise running back despite his question of durability. Does carry a history of injuries.
Other possible picks: - Calvin Johnson, Brady Quinn, Joe Thomas, JaMarcus Russell

4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers * Jamaal Anderson, DE Arkansas
The Bucs need a young pass rusher to develop since Dewayne White was signed away by the Lions. Bucs officials may consider DT Amobi Okoye an already great defense prospect - one of the Bucs greatest needs.
Other possible picks: - Amobi Okoye, Alan Branch

5. Arizona Cardinals - Joe Thomas, OT Wisconsin
Thomas is the best OT prospect this year, and tackles are at a premium, and the Cardinals really want him. Don't be surprised if they somehow find a way to move up higher just to get him. However, chances are they are not likely to get Joe Thomas, so they may do the opposite and move down to go after Levi Brown or Gaines Adams.
Other possible picks: - Levi Brown, Gaines Adams & Alan Branch - the two best defensive lineman available

6. Washington Redskins - Gaines Adams, DE Clemson
At 6-4 265 pounds he was the top pass rusher last season in college football with 7.5 sacks. Adams can make an immediate difference as a rare game-changing pass rusher.
Other possible picks: - Jamaal Anderson, Alan Branch

7. Minnesota Vikings - * Ted Ginn Jr., WR Ohio State
The Vikings are in desperate need of a wide receiver. Ginn possesses great speed and is a great return man. I am pretty sure they would rather grab Calvin Johnson, but chances are that Johnson will not be available come pick no. 7.
Other possible picks: - Greg Olsen, Robert Meachem

8. Houston Texans - Brady Quinn, QB Notre Dame
After passing on Reggie Bush in the 2006 draft, hopefully the Texans are not thinking about making the same mistake twice. David Carr may still be on the Texans roster, however there have been some muttering of a trade to aquire Jake Plummer. The Texans may also gear towards an OT, such as Levi Brown, to help protect their QB if they decide to somehow stick with Carr or aquire Plummer.
Other possible picks: - Levi Brown

9. Miami Dolphins - *Alan Branch, DT Michigan
Branch has a lot to build around as he has amazing size and athleticism. Once they release Joey Harrington, Culpepper is all they will have at the QB position. Let's face it Culpepper is no spring chicken anymore, they may even go for a new QB like Quinn, that's if he slips. Now the question is - will the Dolph's be able to nab Branch?
Other possible picks: - Brady Quinn

10. Atlanta Falcons - LaRon Landry, S LSU
The Falcons are in desperate need of a safety and Landry can play safety. After his 4.35 40-yard dash at the combine, Landry definately solidified his position in the top 10.
Other possible picks: - I'll stick with Landry
